Dr. Asha Mohammed

Biography:
Dr. Asha was the founding chairperson of the Haiba board. She brings to the board tremendous management experience. She is the chairperson of the pan Africa coordinating team under the Red Cross, and a member of the national council of the Kenya Girl Guides. Dr. Asha has also served as the health director of the Kenya Red cross, Chairperson, Eastern Africa Regional health Working group, secretary, Kenya Medical Womens Association and provincial coordinator, national Aids Council, Kenya. She is committed to the Haiba vision and her talent for building groups will serve the foundation well.


Mr Kassim Abass

Biography:
After his University education, Kassim worked with Selecta, a German flower firm for the period 2000-2005. During this time he gained tremendous experience in human resource management matters, company image building and setting up of accounting systems.From 2005 to date, he has worked in the energy sector with KENGEN, the prenier electricity generator in the region, and is now holds the position of Chief Finance Officer-Thermal. He has from inception, headed the Haiba secretariat and has been a worthy custodian of haiba ideals.


Prof. Saidi Hassan

Biography:
Prof. Hassan brings to the board tremendous experience in scholarship and health matters. He received his graduate and postgraduate education at the University of Nairobi and qualified as a surgeon in 2000. He has taught Anatomy and Surgery at the University of Nairobi and the Aga Khan University in Nairobi, rising through the ranks from assistant lecturer (2006) to Associate Professor (2010) . He has also taught at the University of Pensylvania in the USA. He is a council member (secretary) of the surgical society of Kenya, board member of Kenya Medical Association-Sacco, and is the Editor- in-Chief of the Annals of African surgery journal. In 2010, Prof. Hassan was appointed Associate Dean of the school of Medicine, University of Nairobi. He has been involved in the administration of youth organizations in Kibera. He believes in establishing a strong board relationship with every member growing in the process.

Mariam has served the Barclays bank of Kenya for 24 years, rising through the ranks to section head. She has now devoted her time to community affairs and is a key member of the management team of the Kibera Academy. She is a member of the Kibera womens group and the current treasurer of the Ansar group, again in Kibera.

Biography:
Mrs. Alambo is a long serving civil servant. After her education at the University of Al Hazar (Cairo), Madras university (India) and Harvard Business school (USA), Mrs Alambo has served as accountant and accounts controller at Treasury and ministries of Natural resources, tourism and wildlife, labor and defense. She is a member of the Soroptomist international and has served as treasurer and chairman of the Nairobi club. She is the financial comptroller of the East African federation of the Soroptomist and currently in charge of health, Nairobi club. She is the current board chairman of the Kibera Academy and the patron of the Kibera Nubian women group.


Dr. Ahmed Kalebi

Biography:
After his undergraduate University education, Ahmed pursued advanced studies in pathology at Kenyan and South African Universities. Upon his return to Kenya in 2008, Dr. Kalebi set up Lancet-Kenya Ltd, a leading pathology laboratory in Nairobi.
